IFS Trained
I believe every person has the capacity to heal and to live a connected, vibrant life. When faced with anxiety, depression, and pain, we sometimes cope by developing habits and re-living patterns that hold us back from the life we want to live. Whether you are experiencing unfulfilling relationships, grief, panic, or numbness, I work with my clients to get to know the stories that shape their lives, which helps illuminate the path forward.
I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) system approach in my work. I have completed the intensive Level 1 IFS training and regularly pursue continuing education and consultation in this approach. In addition to formalized training, I have also done years of my own work in this model and have first-hand experience of the radical level of healing and self-compassion IFS can provide.
Having been trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, my approach is rooted in neuroscience. I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, creativity, and humor into my practice. In fact, I have a background in teaching and performing improvisational theater and I love bringing creativity into my practice.
Therapy can be a powerful process to build a better relationship with ourselves, increase our internal peace, open us up to happiness, and help us create more meaningful relationships with others. It is a joy to support my clients on that journey.
