JOE CALDWELL (he/him) LCSW
Therapy is an act of resistance. In our rapidly shifting world, taking time to slow down and check in with yourself becomes a radical act of self-compassion. I believe healing happens when we recognize that our struggles aren't just individual challenges, but responses to the complex realities we navigate daily. My work centers on creating a collaborative space where we can explore not just what's happening in your life, but the broader influences that shape how we move through the world. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, seeking personal growth or working through your relationship with a substance or behavior, I'm here to walk with you.
I provide support for individuals (18+) and couples. I use an integrative approach drawing from liberation psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, harm reduction psychotherapy, and a wide-range of trauma-informed approaches. Together we'll work together to build skills for living authentically while honoring the wisdom you already carry from your lived experiences. I provide a sex-positive and affirming space for clients in polyamorous, kink, and other non-monogamous dynamics. Prior to my life as a therapist, my work centered on improving care for LGBTQIA+ people around the country and abroad. I am also proud to be an ally for people who do sex work and/or use drugs.
You deserve to feel heard, seen, and valued in therapy, not changed to fit into expectations that don't serve your wellbeing. We'll move at your pace, recognizing that you are the expert on your own life while I offer tools and perspectives that can support your journey. Whether you're new to therapy or trying again after previous experiences that didn't quite fit, I welcome you to connect for a consultation -- you can reach me at Joe@humboldtparkcounseling.com
