Sally Sachs (they/them), Masters Level Intern

Life can feel messy and chaotic. It can be such a grind to navigate the present while carrying burdens of the past while existing in the systems that impact us. Doing it all with a mental health concern can make it even more complicated. At the same time, you are a whole person with strengths, resilience, and creativity. Therapy is a space to bring all of your experiences and all parts of yourself, and walk through your journey with someone who can hold compassion without judgement. During therapy I aim to co-create a space where we can play, explore, grow, and honor all parts of you in ways that feel affirming and lighten the heavy parts.

I am a queer, non-binary, Chinese American clinical therapist with experience in a variety of contexts including youth group home, adult case management, peer support, and domestic violence shelter settings. Rooted in a radical, liberation-based model of care, I approach therapy with an anti-carceral, trauma-informed lens. My work centers the experiences of queer, trans, gender/sexuality questioning and BIPOC individuals, particularly those living with psychosis, neurodivergence, trauma, self-harm, and/or suicidal ideation. My practice is guided by a commitment to harm reduction and client-centered affirming care that recognizes the systemic forces shaping mental health and honors the full humanity of those I work with. I bring authenticity, warmth, laughter, a love of cats, and a "burn down the system" mentality to the therapy space.
